Hey Todd,
I'd be interested to know how your congregation has responded to two songs I see in this week's Order of Service.
The first is "Indescribable". It is a beautiful, scripturally sound song. However, because of the difficult combination of lyric and melody, I personally find it ill suited for congregational singing. Actually, I've spoken to the author, Laura Story, and she never thought it would be a congregational worship song because of those precise issues.
Second is "Grace Like Rain". How has your congregation found that song? We have not sung it at Christ Covenant for two reasons.
1. It is such a well known song/text combination that is hard to get away from the "traditional" melody.
2. I just don't think the melody added by Tod Agnew treats the text very well... I guess just not very inventive.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks Todd!
